ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)


Approval to award an Engineering Contract to Claunch & Miller, Inc. (CMI) for Lift Station Improvements in the amount of $94,950.00 for design phase and $32,000.00 for the inspection construction phase services for a total contract amount of $126,950.00.

BACKGROUND


The City recently completed an update of the evaluation of all the lift stations located within the city. The study updated the condition of the existing lift station wet well, and provided a prioritization of the lift stations requiring rehabilitation and/or upgrades. The seven Lift Stations are Lift Station No. 1 (Bay Street), Lift Station No. 4 (17th Street and 5th Avenue N.), Lift Station No. 9 (5th Avenue S. and 27th Street), Lift Station No. 14 (Dike Road and Bay Street), Lift Station No. 17 (Albert Street and F.M. 1765(Texas Ave.)),  Lift Station No. 21 (Blue Jay Lane), Lift Station No. 24 (Mentor Drive and Hwy. 3).

ANALYSIS

ANALYSIS:
CMI will perform the necessary engineering services for implementing the design, bidding, and installation of the improvements to the seven Lift Stations. This is part of City’s ongoing efforts to rehab and improve sanitary lines throughout the City.
