ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Approve and award Bid # 2008-900 for the purchase and delivery of Chemicals and Fertilizer Annual Contract.
BACKGROUND
Bid packets were mailed to six (6) area vendors on February 27, 2008. A bid tabulation is attached for your review.
Bids opened Friday, March 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.

ANALYSIS
The low responsible bids meeting all specifications were received as follows, for the unit prices bid per item:
UAP Professional Products: item's # 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,11,12,14,22,24,27,28,29,31,33,36,38,41,46
and 47
BWI: item's # 9,10,13,17,19,20,23,26,34,37 and 44
Brandt: item's # 4,18,25 and 42
LESCO Inc.: item's # 15,16,21,40 and 45
Univar: item's # 30 and 32
Item's # 35, 39 and 43 are excluded from an award due to the unstable cost of these products; which have increased almost weekly. A memo from the vendor is attached for your review.
It is my recommendation to award the annual contracts to the vendors listed, for the unit prices bid per item and that the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission.
