ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
BACKGROUND
On February 10, 2015 the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development allocated $377,079 to the City for the purpose of addressing housing and community development needs. HUD also, requires the entitlement jurisdiction to complete a Consolidated Plan every five years. The Consolidated Plan includes an analysis of the jurisdiction's market, affordable housing, and community development needs and conditions. It outlines the community strategy for addressing it housing and community development needs. The city held two public hearing meetings. No comments were received.
ANALYSIS
The Community Development five-year Consolidated Plan must be received in the Houston HUD office no later than August 16, 2015 which is a Sunday. Therefore, Friday August 14, 2015 is the delivery date.
ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED
If the Consolidated Plan is not received by HUD by August 14, 2015, then the City loses the federal funding.
