Approve and award a contract for Bid # 2021-397 Texas Avenue Drainage Improvements Project.
BACKGROUND
A notice to bidders was advertised in the paper on January 12 and January 19,2021, for Bid # 2021-397 Texas Avenue Drainage Improvements Project. This project is funded by the Texas General Land Office (GLO). Bid packets were made available via CivCastUSA at that time, to area vendors. Bids were received and opened on January 28, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. local time.
The lowest responsible bid meeting all specifications was received from Millis Equipment, LLC.in Missouri City, Texas, for the total bid amount of $1,675,007.50.

ANALYSIS
It is the recommendation of ARKK Engineers, LLC and the Public Works Department to award a contract for bid # 2021-397 Texas Avenue Drainage Improvements Project to Millis Equipment, LLC for the total bid amount of $1,675,007.50 and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract on behalf of the City Commission.
The Public Works Department further recommends that the Mayor be authorized to approve any change orders, not to exceed 25% of the total contract price, without bringing the matter before the City Commission.
