ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 21-017, approving the purchase, delivery, and installation of Playground Units at seven park locations throughout the City from Playpower LT Farmington, Inc. through Buyboard (Contract No. 592-19) - local government purchasing cooperative. (Recreation & Tourism)
BACKGROUND
The Parks Recreation & Tourism Department has for many years established a playground re-vitalization program to bring all playgrounds up to national playground standards to include play equipment, fall surfaces and wheelchair accessibility. Today’s request is to consider completing the seven remaining playgrounds located throughout the City. Amburn Park ($35,899.56), Danforth Park ($31,851.71), Florance Park ($35,480.60) Goodson Park ($33,159.18), Tarpey Park ($51,213.94), Walker Park ($60,195.29), and Westview Parkway Park ($32,256.22). Funds are available in the 2020-2021 Economic Development Corporation (EDC) budget.
ANALYSIS
It is the recommendation of the Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department to award the purchase, delivery and installation of playground units at seven park locations throughout the City to Playpower LT Farmington, Inc. through buyboard (contract # 592-19) in the amount of $280,056.50.
