ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider approval of a Resolution consenting to the annexation of approximately 65 acres of land into MUD 53.(Engineering & Planning)
BACKGROUND
When Galveston County Municipal Utility District 53 (GCMUD 53) was originally created in 2005, it included all the land under control by the developer at that time. Since then, the developers have acquired additional land (approx. 65 acres), and would like to have the additional land annexed into the utility district. This would provide the 65 acres the same mechanism for reimbursement for water, sewer, and drainage improvements as the rest of the development.
The City has engaged a consultant, David Oliver with ABHR to review the request and associated documents. All items are in order and staff has no objections to the request.
