ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Calling a General Election to be held in Texas City on May 7, 2022, and designating polling location. (City Secretary)
BACKGROUND
Applications can be accepted as early as January 19 and the last day to file is February 18th. Applications are available with
the Secretary of State on their website. I am in the process of putting together a packet that will have additional information such as a charter, application to run, information on finance laws, etc. That will be available in early January through the Election Information webpage on the City website (https://www.texascitytx.gov/176/Election-Information) and in my office.
Early Voting will begin on April 25, 2022. The last day of Early Voting will be May 3, 2022. Exact dates and times will be posted once those details are available.
The proposed designated polling places are Nessler Center & Carver Community Center.
