Receive report from Bob Heath with Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP, regarding the draft redistricting plan.

As a result of the 2022 Census, the City hired Bob Heath with Bickerstaff Heath, Delgado Acosta LLP., to work with the City to determine wether or not the City needed to redistrict due to the 2020 Census information and growth within the City of Texas City.  Mr. Heath performed an assessment for the City and presented the results of that assessment to the Mayor and City Commission on May 18, 2022.  The Assessment showed the City needed to redistrict due to population growth throughout the City during the most recent Census period.  As a result of the Assessment, the Mayor and City Commission directed Mr. Heath to provide a draft plan that the Mayor and Commission could consider.  

On July 27, 2022, the City Commission held their First Drawing Workshop with Mr. Bickerstaff to formulate a redistricting plan and to look at different possible redistricting options.  The purpose of this meeting is for the Mayor and City Commission to review the draft redistricting plan and provide feed back to Mr. Heath with the goal of finalizing the redistricting plan for the City of Texas City.
