ACTION REQUEST
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 2023-042, approval of a new proposed five (5) year contract for police tasers from Axon in the amount of $88,716.58 per year. (Police Department)
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
The current contract for police tasers provided by Axon expires in October 2023. This proposed contract would not take effect until that time but would lock in current prices and guarantee delivery of the Taser 10 by November 2023. The contract proposed is five years in length at $88,716.58 per year, this price includes 105 new tasers (Taser 10), holsters, live cartridges, training cartridges, training aids, instructor schools, and all software and storage. Our current tasers are nearly all out of warranty and past their useful life, these new tasers would be replacements for those currently being deployed.
RECOMMENDATION
The Chief and command staff recommend approving the new contract proposal from Axon.
