ACTION REQUEST
Approve and award a contract for Bid # 2023-426 Fire Station No. 4 Access Road Project.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
A notice to bidders was advertised on March 21, 2023, and March 28, 2023. Bid packets were made available to local area vendors via CIVCASTUSA. Bids were received and opened on May 03, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. The lowest responsible bid meeting all specifications was submitted by Lucas Construction Company, Inc., for the total bid amount of $346,244.00. A letter of recommendation and bid tabulation are attached for your review. The funds for this project will be made available via a budget transfer.
RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department to award bid # 2023-426 Fire Station No. 4 Access Road Project, to Lucas Construction Company, Inc., for the total amount bid of $346,244.00, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. It is further recommended that the Mayor be authorized to approve change orders, not to exceed 25% of the total contract price, without taking the matter before Commission.
