ACTION REQUEST
Approve and award a contract for Bid # 2023-432 Rehabilitation of Non-Potable Water Hydro Tank.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
A notice to bidders for Bid # 2023-432 was advertised on May 24, 2023, and May 31, 2023, in accordance with the state requirements. Bid packets were made available to local area vendors via CivCastUSA. Bids were received and opened on June 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The lowest responsible bidder meeting all specifications was TankCo, Inc. with a total bid price of $66,910. Funds are made available via the City of Texas City 2022/2023 Annual Budget. A bid tabulation and letter of recommendation are attached for your review.
RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of ARRK Engineers and the Public Works Department to award Bid # 2023-432 Rehabilitation of Non-Potable Water Hydro Tank to TanksCo, Inc. for the total bid amount of $66,910 and that the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. It is further recommended that the Mayor be authorized to approve any change orders not to exceed 25% without bringing the matter before the City Commission.
