ACTION REQUEST
Consider and take action on Resolution 2024-XX, regarding Gulf Coast Transit Services provided in Texas City limits and payment therefor.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
The Gulf Coast Transit District (GCTD) is providing transit services for the citizens and residents of Texas City in accordance with the terms of a contract which has expired. GCTD has not yet presented an updated contract or requested an extension of the expired contract, but is continuing to provide services in accordance with its terms. Texas City desires the Gulf Coast Transit Authority to continue to provide transit service within the city limits of Texas City and has approved funding in accordance with the expired contract in the FY 2024-2025 budget.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommend the City Commission of the City of Texas City, Texas authorize the continued payment for transit services as provided in the expired contract until such contract is extended or replaced with a new contract approved by the City Commission. Such payments are to be made from the funds approved in the FY 2024-2025 budget.
