ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)

Approve park rules and food truck vendor application for the 6th Street Community Plaza.
 

BACKGROUND

The 6th Street Community Plaza is nearing completion, and staff have been working on developing operating procedures for the facility.  Attached are the proposed park rules and food truck vendor applications for review. These documents were developed in partnership with Mayor Johnson, as well as the Recreation and Tourism Department, Planning and Engineering, Management Services and the Texas City Police Department.

Upon approval of the park rules, two signs will be produced and placed on either end of the park once construction has been completed (ideally in late June).  Furthermore, upon approval of the food truck vendor application, staff will move forward with a “Call for Food Trucks” awareness campaign, to include information about a special workshop with Galveston County Health District on May 1.
 

ANALYSIS

Staff recommends approval of the 6th Street Community Plaza rules and food truck vendor application packet for the 6th Street Community Plaza.
