ACTION REQUEST
Consider and authorize the purchase of a Ford F-350 Diesel, from Sterling McCall Ford in the amount of $75,000.00, and the purchase of a remount service for one (1) existing medical unit (Modular Box) X-1665 onto the newly purchased chassis from Frazer, LTD in the amount of $175,000.00, for a total project cost of $250,000.00.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
Medic Unit M-15, originally placed into service in 2012, is now 13 years old and experiencing increasing mechanical issues and downtime, resulting in intermittent service interruptions. In accordance with the department’s modular replacement plan, the modular (box) portion of the unit will be preserved and remounted onto a new chassis to extend its operational life.
The purchase will be executed in two phases:
Phase One: Purchase of the Ford F-350 Diesel chassis from Sterling McCall Ford, as outlined in Invoice SED64172, under the agreement dated October 22, 2024, for $75,000.00.
Phase Two: Upon completion of the remount, a final payment of $175,000.00 will be made to Frazer, LTD for the remounting service.
This approach supports cost-effective fleet management while maintaining operational readiness and minimizing service gaps.
This project will be completed through the HGAC Cooperative Purchasing Program.
