ACTION REQUEST
Consider and take action to approve the award of a $5,000 Commissioners’ Community Grant to Come and See Friends Church House of Disciples, on behalf of Commissioner Jami Clark.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
Come and See Friends Church House of Disciples is a faith-based organization under the Come and See Friends Church family. The organization aims to assist men who struggle with addiction and homelessness in the community. The grant request would assist the outreach program, Chat N Chew, to serve and feed the community of Texas City once a month, and support ongoing maintenance, repair, and the possibility of a fire alarm system for the House of Disciples.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of a grant award in the amount of $5,000 to Come and See Friends Church House of Disciples, on behalf of Commissioner Jami Clark.
