ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 16-040, approving and awarding Bid # 2016-320 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project - Phase 17. (Public Works)
BACKGROUND
A "Notice To Bidders" was advertised on April 6, 2016. The low responsible bid, meeting all specifications, was received from Lopez Utilities Contractor, LLC, in South Houston. A letter of recommendation with a bid tabulation is attached for your review.
ANALYSIS
The Utilities Department and ARKK Engineers recommends the award of Bid # 2016-320 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project - Phase 17 to Lopez Utilities Contractor, LLC., for the total bid amount of $995,810.00, and that the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. It is further recommended that the Mayor be authorized to approve change orders, not to exceed 25% of the total contract price without taking the matter before the City Commission.
