ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 16-043, approving and awarding Bid # 2016-319 Fire Station 1 & Fire Administration Building Roof Restoration Coating Project. (Public Works)
BACKGROUND
On April 7, 2016, the "Notice To Bidders" was published and bid packets were mailed out to area vendors. The low responsible bidder, meeting all specifications is Brazos Urethane. A letter of recommendation and bid tabulation is attached for your review.
ANALYSIS
It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department and Fire Department to award Bid # 2016-319 Fire Station1 & Fire Administration Building Roof Restoration Coating Project, to Brazos Urethane for the total bid amount of $81,853.00, and that the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. It is further recommended that the Mayor be authorized to approve change orders, not to exceed 25% of the total contract price with out taking the matter before City Commission.
