An amendment to the City of Texas City's Fiscal Year 2015-16 Budget is needed to appropriate funds for renovations to the Public Works North Service Center.

A budget amendment is needed to appropriate funds for renovation and repairs to the Public Works shop, maintenance, and storage facility at 1002 12th Ave N.  This is the North Service Center, aka Whites building.

The estimated cost to demo and replace the building shop area, replace the main building's roof and make some interior improvements is $660,000.  The price includes replacing the main building roof, purchasing and erecting a new metal building (with masonry veneer) for the shop, and having the city building maintenance crew make some interior improvements to the main building--some demo, bathroom work, etc.

Funds will come from the 2015 Certificates of Obligation which were issued for street and drainage improvements and building improvements.
