ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 17-048, approving Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan and Budget for program year 2017. (Management Services)
BACKGROUND
On June 14, 2017, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated $353,153.00 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to the City of Texas City for the upcoming program year that covers the period October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018, to be used for eligible projects and activities that primarily benefit low and moderate income residents or neighborhoods.
As required in our citizen participation plan, the City held two citizen participation meetings. Those in attendance were the community development advisory board members, local financial Institutions, local real estate members and residents from various neighborhoods.
Both meetings were published in the Galveston Daily newspaper in English and 1 in Spanish. As of this request no public comments have been received.
