ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 18-009, to approve and award Bid 2018-039 for the purchase and delivery of Police Department Uniforms Annual Contract to Galls, LLC and to serve as a reference and clarification to Resolution 17-087 awarded to the Galls DBA Trade Name of Lone Star Uniforms. (Purchasing)
BACKGROUND
On December 20, 2017, Bid #2017-039 Police Uniforms was approved and awarded by Resolution 17-087 to Lone Star Uniforms.
Lone Star Uniforms is owned by Galls, LLC. On 01/19/2018, Galls LLC. notified purchasing when receiving the agreement that Galls still retains ownership of Lone Star Uniforms but has made a decision to not operate under the trade name of (DBA) Lone Star Uniforms. It was the intent of Galls, LLC to remove the name of Lone Star Uniforms from an awarded bid by submitting the Bid Form under the ownership name Galls, LLC. The bid and company that bid is the same as what was approved in December; only the name is changed to reflect the new owner of the company and who is now operating the company.
Purchasing was unaware and was not notified by Galls prior to bid packets being mailed of the change in ownership. To correct this oversight, the Purchasing Department is requesting a new resolution be approved to award the Bid # 2017-039 to Galls, LLC. and to serve as a reference and clarification of previous awarded Resolution 17-087.
The only change to the agreement would be removing the DBA Lone Star Uniforms and adding verbiage "Galls, LLC (SUPPLIER) a Delaware limited liability company, formerly doing business as Lone Star Uniforms of the City of Houston.
A current Galls W-9 has been submitted without the DBA Lone Star Uniforms and the vendor information has been updated. A revised agreement, past agreement, and W-9's are attached for your review.
