Consider and take action on a Resolution, authorizing the Mayor to execute an Interlocal Agreement with Galveston County for the reconstruction of portions of Texas Ave. and Century Blvd.

In April, 2017, Galveston County Commissioners Court requested that Texas City prepare roadway construction information in preparation for a November 2017 County Bond Election. The City's top priorities were the reconstruction of Texas Ave. between 14th St. and 6th St. and the reconstruction of Century Blvd. between Sea Lion Chemicals and SH 3.  With the successful bond election, Galveston County has allocated $6,290,000 to Texas City for these two projects.  Also, up to $1,000,000 is available from the County with a dollar-for-dollar city match.

This agreement formalizes the activities the City and County will perform for the design and construction of these two projects.  Texas City has had numerous discussions with Galveston County officials regarding the County's selection of a qualified firm to perform the work in Texas City.
