ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider approval of a Resolution authorizing a Professional Engineering - Agreement for Services with ARKK Engineers, LLC for improvements to Sanitary Sewer Lift Station #29.
BACKGROUND
Lift Station #29 is part of the City's sanitary sewer collection system that provides service to the western areas of the City including all of Lago Mar, the Demontrond area, Mall of the Mainland and other developments along FM 2004 and Century Blvd. The City's master plan for sanitary sewer identifies Lift Station #29 as a key component in providing sewer service to this part of the City.
With the continued success of the Lago Mar development, and other developments in the area to a lesser extent, there is a need to improve the lift station and increase its sewer pumping capacity. City staff and ARKK have identified improvements that will maximize the capacity of other components of the lift station including the wet well structure and force main. Currently the lift station has capacity for approximately 1500 equivalent single-family connections. After construction of the improvements, the capacity will be approximately 3000 equivalent single-family connections. The construction project is anticipated to cost approximately $1,265,000
