ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 19-001, authourizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Don Edmonds for consulting services to the City's Charter Review Commitee. (Management Services)
BACKGROUND
A couple of months ago the City Commission established a Charter Review Committee. The committee has met twice. Part of their early discussions was the need to hire a consultant to assist them in the process similar to the last review. They interviewed and selected Don Edmonds. His information is attached. He is an associate of the individual who guided the City's Charter Review Committee last time and comes highly recommended. He charges hourly and hopes to complete the process in 6 or 7 visits. He has a "not to exceed" amount of $16,000. As an update, they anticipate an election in November of 2019. The actual process of review will start in January.
