ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Approve residential demolition renewal contract with Grant MacKay Company., Inc., through the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Baytown with an annual consumer price index increase (CPI) of 1.9%. The current price per square foot is $1.72, the increased amount is $1.75.

BACKGROUND
On May 3, 2017, the City entered into an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Baytown for residential demolition services using Grant MacKay Company, Inc. The City of Baytown along with Texas City renewed the contract for one-year in 2018 and on April 1, 2019 the City of Baytown again renewed the contract with a 1.9% CPI increase.
ANALYSIS
To terminate the contract and bid out the demolition of residential structures would be more expensive and time-consuming than to continue in the current contract and continue with demolition services. Staff recommends the increase.
ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED
Terminate the interlocal agreement with the City of Baytown and proceed to bid out residential demolition services or approve the increase and continue with residential demolition services.
