Consider and take action on Resolution No. 19-035, accepting the Charter amendment recommendations presented by the Texas City Charter Review Committee. (Management Services)

Earlier in the City Commission Workshop, the City Commission heard the presentation on the Charter Review Committee's recommendations on changes in the City's Charter.  At this time, the City Commission shall elect which changes it wishes to take to the voters for a referendum for acceptance of the changes.  After the items are selected, the City Attorney will work on wording of the ballot once all items that will be taken to the voters are selected.  The City Commission may accept some, all, or none of the recommendations.  The commission may alter the recommendations.  Also, the commission may decide to add some of its own recommendations not listed or considered by the Charter Review Committee.  The recommendations are strictly that, a recommendation, and the City Commission is not beholden to anything presented.  The Chair of the Committee, the consultant, and staff will be present to answer any questions.  This item may be continued at another meeting if the City Commission needs more information or wants to time to think through the recommendations.  The recommendations are under the workshop presentation.  Attached is tentative schedule for the Charter Election and preparation.
