Consider and take action on Resolution No. 19-063, calling a Special Charter Amendment Election to be held in Texas City and designating polling places. (City Secretary)

The City Council approved in April the recommended changes in the City Charter by the Charter Review Committee.  The schedule at that time called for the election in November. To meet the deadline, the City needs to call a Special Election for Charter Amendment.  Staff is working with the County to prepare a contract.  The official polling places will be the Nessler Center and Carver Park Recreation Center.  However, as done in the past, the county has created the ability for voters to vote at any county election polling places which will include other locations in Texas City, League City, Hitchcock, and other cities.  The resolution includes the dates and times for the early voting and hours.  See the attachment for the schedule that was provided in April for the Charter Review Amendments.
