ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider awarding the housing reconstruction bid at 1113- 9th Ave N to DSW in the amount of $193,600.00
BACKGROUND
The projected located at 1113-9th Ave N proposed in the amount of $ 107,000, is to construct a three bedroom 2 bath, ADA compliant home measuring approximately 1,265 square feet. The original home of 1,192 square foot was built in 1960. The original home was needed extensive rehabilitation over 50% which required a substantial rehabilitation to bring it into full code compliance. The project falls in the targeted revitalization area.
Notice to bidders was published in the Galveston daily news on May 22nd and 30th, Approximately 20 contractors were emailed/mailed a bid package taken from a list of businesses that previously expressed interest in bidding on Community Development projects. Three potential bidders attended the pre-construction meeting, one bid was submitted by DSW Homes.
