ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
H.T. Aldridge request to rezone from "A" (Single Family Residential) and "D-1" (Neighborhood Service) to "E" (General Business) to operate a night club in an existing building. Being Lots 2,3,6,7 and 8 of the Booker T. Washington S/d. Located at 6204 FM 1765.
BACKGROUND
This request came before the Zoning Commission during a Public Hearing held on July 16, 2019. After hearing all information from the applicant, the Commission then heard from surrounding property owners who were in opposition to the rezoning request. After hearing all discussion, the rezoning request was unanimously denied. Per the Zoning Ordinance, if a rezoning request is denied by the Zoning Commission, an applicant can ask that the rezoning request be forwarded to City Commission for review as long as they file a written letter asking to do so. Mr. Aldridge has done so.
