ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Texas City, Texas, appointing one (1) Representative and one (1) Alternate to the Houston-Galveston Area Council 2021 General Assembly and Board of Directors.
BACKGROUND
H-GAC's Bylaws authorize each member city with a population of at least 25,000, but not in excess of 99,999 according to the last Federal Census (2010) to select one member of its governing body as it's Representative and one member as an Alternate. Pursuant to the Bylaws, the appointed H-GAC Representative for Texas City will also be designated to serve on the H-GAC Board of Directors.
Mayor Pro Tem Roberts was the most recent Representative with Commissioner Jamie Clark serving as the Alternate. The recommendation is to appoint Commissioner Jamie Clark as the Representative with Mayor Dedrick Johnson serving as the Alternate for 2021.
