ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Approval of Resolution No. 21-028 awarding Bid # 2021-401, to Crescent Electric, the lowest responsible bidder meeting all the requirements of the bid in the amount of $480,910.
BACKGROUND
On October 7, 2020, the TCEDC Board authorized the funding for the design and oversight for the replacement of the existing street lighting along Texas Avenue from 14th Street to 6th Street with new Decorative Street Lighting.
Subsequently, On April 13th the TCEDC Board met to discuss the bids and unanimously approved a resolution for funding for Decorative Street Lighting along Texas Avenue from 14th Street to 6th Street.
Gandy2 Lighting Design, LLC worked with Staff to develop the bid specifications for the project and the project was advertised for bid on February 11th and on February 18th with the bid opening date of March 16th. One bid was received at that time as outlined below:
A. Crescent Electric in the amount of $480,910.
The project consists of installing decorative ornamental type street lighting on Texas Avenue, from 14th Street to 6th street. The new ornamental type street lighting will replace the existing Metal Halide lighting.
Gandy2 Lighting Design, LLC recommends award of the bid to the lowest responsible bidder Crescent Electric.
