ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)

Approve and award a contract for bid number 2022-412 Water Line Replacement Project - Phase 18

BACKGROUND

A notice to bidders was published on January 25, 2022 and again February 02, 2022. Bid packets were made available to local area vendors vis CIVCASTUSA. Bids were received and opened on February 16, 2022 at 2:30 p.m.

The lowest responsible bidder meeting all specifications is Lopez Utilities Contractor, LLC for the total amount bid $1,295,565.00

A letter of recommendation with bid tabulation is attached for your review.

ANALYSIS

It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department to award bid number 2022-412 to Lopez Utilities Contractor, LLC., for the total bid amount of $1,295,565.00, and that the Mayor be authorize to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. It is further recommended that the Mayor be authorized to approve  change orders, not to exceed 25% of the total contract price, without taking the matter before the City Commission.
