ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider the Appointment of Ms. Katy-Marie Lyles as Municipal Court Judge.
BACKGROUND
The Municipal Court of Record is requesting the appointment of an additional judge to ensure proper coverage of court and jail dockets. With one of our judges out on extended medical leave it has created an undo hardship on the remaining judges. Judge Dunkel has been working seven days a week for the past nine months with Judge Quintanilla covering where he can. The creation of this position will add no significant fiscal impact as judges are paid on a per-docket basis and will guarantee docket coverage.
