ACTION REQUEST
Consider and take action on Resolution No. 22-137 to approve Mayor Dedrick Johnson's recommendations to appoint Aric Owens as as alternate members to the City of Texas City Planning Board.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
On November 2, 2022 the City Commission amended the Zoning Ordinance to create two positions for alternate members of the Planning Board. The amendment provides for appointment of the alternate members by the City Commission upon recommendatoin from the Mayor. Mayor Johnson recommends Aric Owens for appointment as a alternate member of the Planning Board. Aric Owens is a life long resident of Texas City and currently serves on the Zoning Commission. .
RECOMMENDATION
Aric Owens is recommended by Mayor Dedrick Johnson to the vacant position of alternate member of the Planning Board. Mr. Owens has accepted the offers to serve.
