ACTION REQUEST
Approve and award a contract for Bid # 2023-433 Removal of Debris From The Wastewater Treatment Plant.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
A "Notice to Bidders" was published in the Galveston County Daily News on May 31, 2023, and June 7, 2023. Bid packets were mailed out to local vendors. Bids were opened on June 21, 2023, at 10 a.m. The lowest responsible bidder meeting all specifications was Magna Flow Environmental, Inc., in Humble Texas, with a unit price of $225.00 per cubic yard. Funds are made available via the 2022-2023 City of Texas City Annual Budget. A bid tabulation is attached for your review.
RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department to award Bid # 2023-433 Removal of Debris From The Wastewater Treatment Plant, to Magna Flow Environmental, Inc. for the unit prices bid, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. Funding for the project is included in the Public Works budget.
