ACTION REQUEST
Recognition of the first graduating class of the Texas City Police Department's cadet program.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
In September of 2022 the cadet program was instituted at the Texas City Police Department. The initial class was selected from numerous applicants and attended the Police Academy at Alvin Community College in the spring of 2023. In the academy, they attended 728 hours of training before graduating and passing their state licensing exam. All the cadets were recently sworn in as Texas City Police Officers along with two officers that were already certified through T.C.O.L.E.. In addition to the new officers the Texas City Police Department welcomed a new intern in the Criminal Investigative Division, Richard Robinson.
