ACTION REQUEST
Please ratify the submission of the grant application 4594102 for the Bullet-Resistant Shield Grant Program to the TX Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, by the Texas City Police Department.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
The City applied for and received funds under this grant opportunity for FY' 24 in the amount of $120,000 which provided 13 shields for the patrol officers of TCPD. Adding 20 more would put the total amount of shields for the Department at 33, which is half of the patrol.
The application was submitted by Officer Schanzer prior to the 2/8/24 deadline with the assistance of the Grants Administration Office.

RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Mayor and the Director of Community Development & Grants Administration that the submission of this application be ratified.
