ACTION REQUEST
Please ratify the submission of the grant application 4735102 for the Riffle-Resistant Body Armor Grant Program to the TX Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, by the Texas City Police Department.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
The City applied for and received funds under this grant opportunity for FY' 24 in the amount of $30,000 which provided 62 body armors for the TCPD. Adding 20 more would put the total amount of armors for the Department at 102, which would outfit the entire department. The application was submitted by Officer Schanzer prior to the 2/8/24 deadline with the assistance of the Grants Administration Office.
RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Mayor and the Director of Community Development & Grants Administration that the submission of this application be ratified.
