ACTION REQUEST

Approve and award the contract for bid no. 2024-013 Liquid Asphalt - Transport Load.

BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)

The bid was advertised on July 19th and July 26th of 2024 and bid packets were sent to local area vendors. Bids were opened on August 09, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.  The lowest responsible bidder meeting all requirements was received from Cleveland Asphalt Products, Inc.

Funds are made available through our liquid asphalt account  (101301-52110), in the City of Texas City Annual Budget. This is an annual contract and there are no guaranteed minimum or maximum purchases. All purchases are on an as needed basis, for the unit prices bid.


A bid tabulation is attached for your review.

RECOMMENDATION

It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department to award the annual contract for Bid No. 2024-013 for Liquid Asphalt-Transport Load, to Cleveland Asphalt Products, Inc., and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract on behalf of the City Commission.
