Consider and take action on the award of a contract to LAN, Inc. for the development of the City's Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The City of Texas City must have a Hazard Mitigation Plan approved by FEMA every 5 years in order to be eligible for funding in the case of a disaster.  The City's last plan expired 5/31/24.  The Grants Administration Office assisted Emergency Management in applying to the Texas General Land Office for a grant to hire a consultant that would be tasked with leading the process to develop a new plan.  The City was awarded a grant in the amount of $100,000 to develop a new Plan.  Through the City's procurement process, LAN, Inc. was chosen by the evaluation committee for the award of this contract.  LAN, Inc.'s project cost is $99,995.00.

It is the recommendation of the Mayor and the Director of Community Development & Grants Administration that the Commission approve the award of a contract to LAN, Inc. in the amount of $99,995.00 to develop a new Hazard Mitigation Plan for the City of Texas City.
