ACTION REQUEST
The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking Comission approval for the removal and replacement of three existing roof-top A/C units at both the Sanders-Vincent and Carver Centers by Gowan Mechanical Inc. for the amount of $392,000.00 utilizing Choice Partners Contract 22/049MF-10. Paid through Account No. 602-401-55010.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
The existing units at Sanders-Vincent and Carver Centers are the original units from when the facilities were built. They have reached their useful life-span and are requiring frequent costly repairs and higher operating costs due to their age. The newer units will provide a more reliable and comfortable environment plus the added benefit of lower energy costs. For more details and specifications of the new systems, please see Exhibit A.
RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department speaking on behalf of the Parks Department, that the Mayor and City Commission approve the replacement of these six units by Gowan Mechanical.
