Information
ACTION REQUEST
Commission approval of a Pressure Monitoring and Leak Detection System installed by Accurate Utility Supply, LLC in the amount of $342,024.00, through Buy Board Contract #717-23. To view proposal (see Exhibit A).
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
This system will consist of devices that constantly monitor the pressure and flow rates at 90 separate locations throughout the City's water system providing "real-time" information. This information is important to recognize water leaks that occur in areas not always visible and can go undetected for months or even years. As the City grows, we are getting closer to exhausting our contract water purchase amount, so early detection is crucial to reduce the amount of raw water we purchase, the expense the City incurs for treating the water, and the lost sales revenue from our customers.
RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Utilities Department that the Commission approve the installation of this system.
