Approve contract to paint distribution water pipes at nine (9) existing water plants.

Quotes were received by Les Dodson, Water Distribution Superintendent, to paint all the piping, pumps and motors at seven (7) water plants and three (3) remote wells.  The equipment was painted seven (7) or eight (8) years ago and show signs of wear due to the climate; such as paint flaking and rust. 

I have attached the three (3) quotes for your review.

Funds are available in the Water Distribution-Maintenance of Storage Tanks account.

It is the recommendation of Les Dodson to award the project to DMS Painting, Inc., in Pasadena, for the quoted price of $54,300.00 and that the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission.
