Approve and award a contract for bid number 2020-399 Brown Drive Construction and Amburn Road Sidewalk Project.
BACKGROUND
On February 9th and February 16th the notice to bidders was published and bid packets were made available to local area vendors via ARKK Engineers and CivcastUSA. The bids were received and opened March 04, 2021 at 10:00 a.m..
The lowest responsible meeting all requirements is Lucas Construction Company, Inc. for the total amount bid $595,105.00.
A letter of recommendation with bid tabulation from the project engineer, ARKK Engineers, is attached for your review.

ANALYSIS
It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department that the City Commission award this project to Lucas Construction Company, Inc. for the total amount of $595,105.00, and authorize the Mayor to execute a contract on behalf of the City Commission. We further recommend that the Mayor be authorized to execute change orders, not to exceed 25% of the contract amount, without bringing the matter before the Commission.
