Consider and take action on Resolution No. 21-040, approving the adoption of the revised CDBG Citizen Participation Plan and the submission of the Substantial Amendment to the 2019 CDBG Action Plan to HUD to receive CDBG-CV funds in order to prevent, prepare for, or respond to the spread of COVID-19. (Community Development)

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the City of Texas City $544,704 pending receipt of an application in the form of a Substantial Amendment to Texas City’s 2019 Annual Action Plan.  The funds will be allotted to rental assistance for eligible Texas City residents ($435,763.20) as well as program planning/administration ($108,940.0).  In order to be eligible residents must be low- or moderate-income.  The City will pay up to 3 months of arrears.
In addition, the Community Development Department requests the adoption of the revised CDBG Citizen Participation Plan, which is required for the submission of the Substantial Amendment.
