ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider approval of a request to amend the City of Texas City’s fiscal year 2020-2021 budget.
BACKGROUND
Due to increasing number of construction projects throughout the city, a budget amendment is needed to create two new positions reporting to the City Building Official and to appropriate funds to pay for salaries and benefits of these new positions. The two new positions are a Deputy Building Official/Commercial Plans Examiner and a Plans Review Specialist.
Annual salary for Deputy Building Official: $68,000 with estimated benefits of $20,400. Annual salary for Plans Review Specialist: $51,000 with estimated benefits of $15,300. This budget amendment will be to cover the remainder of the fiscal year--3 months.
