ACTION REQUEST (Brief Summary)
Consider formally establishing the CDBG Citizen Advisory Committee and approving the appointment of the 8 individuals appointed by the Mayor to said Committee.
BACKGROUND
The Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), an eight-member volunteer board composed of city residents, plays a key role in the planning process for the Community Development Department (CDD). CAC members are appointed by the Mayor and are limited to two 3-year terms. The CAC was established to function as the primary citizen participation mechanism for projects planned and implemented with HUD funds. The CDD is responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the CAC. The CAC meets once a quarter and/or as needed, and all meetings are conducted in an open manner, with freedom of access for all interested persons.
