Consider approval of a request to amend the fiscal year 2020-2021 budget to accept and appropriate C.A.R.E.S. Act funding for rental assistance and administration of these funds under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2019 action plan.

Under Resolution No. 21-040, the City of Texas City Community Development Department has revised the CDBG Citizen Participation Plan and has submitted to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) an application via the Texas City C.A.R.E.S. Act Substantial Amendment to the 2019 CDBG Action Plan to receive $544,704 in CDBG-CV funds with which the City shall provide rental assistance to eligible Texas City residents up to the amount of $435,764.20 with $108,940.80 to be used for program planning and administration.

The City's request to amend the 2019 CDBG Action Plan was approved June 15, 2021.  See attached information.
