Consider approval of a request to amend the City of Texas City’s fiscal year 2021-2022 budget.

A budget amendment is needed to create an additional Deputy City Marshal position and to appropriate funds to pay for salary and benefits of this new position.

This position executes warrants of arrest, subpoenas, legal process issuing out of the Municipal Court and performs code enforcement duties at the direction of the City Marshal.  This position will also perform other security duties as assigned.  Pay will be between $25 and $28 per hour in a 40 hour work week.  This budget amendment creates the position and funds the salary and related benefits from the General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance.
