ACTION REQUEST
Consider and approve the application from Commissioner At-Large Bowie to award The Salvation Army - Boys & Girls Club of Texas City $2,500 from the Commissioners Community Grant Fund. The grant will benefit Texas City families by supporting academic, sports, and music activities which increase self-confidence and self-discipline.
BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)
The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club serves families by providing a structured safe environment for children after school and during the summer. Most of these families have no resources to provide quality care for their children while they work.
RECOMMENDATION
It is the recommendation of the Mayor and Grants Administrator that the Commission approve this application to provide funding to The Salvation Army - Boys & Girls Club of Texas City.
