ACTION REQUEST

Authorize the Mayor to increase Joiner Architects contract amount for the Fire Station 4 & Police Substation Project.

BACKGROUND (Brief Summary)

The Mayor was given authorization to execute an agreement with Joiner Architects for this project at the July 21, 2021 City Commission Meeting.

RECOMMENDATION

Joiner's contract amount is defined as 7% of the construction cost of the project. The increase to Joiner's contracted amount from $563,500.00 to $765,613.00, an increase of $202,113.00, reflects the revised construction budget. This amount also includes a $34,655.00 discount offered by Joiner. It is the opinion of the Public Works Department that the Mayor be authorized by the Commission to increase this contract amount.
